We are proud to announce we are the software of choice for the Taurama Aquatic and Indoor Centre, a new facility purpose built for the 2015 Pacific Games in Papua New Guinea (PNG).

The PNG Sports Foundation operates multiple venues within PNG and has chosen Links Modular Solutions’ industry leading software to process their point of sale transactions, manage their memberships and facility hire. After a week of onsite training, the PNG team were positive, enthusiastic and willing to use their new software.

In the near future, Taurama Aquatic and Indoor Centre will also be employing Links Modular Solutions to install and source access control.

Taurama Aquatic and Indoor Centre adds to the growing list of clients that have recently chosen Links Modular Solutions over our competitors in the software industry.

About the Pacific Games Venue:

The Taurama Complex has been designed to provide sporting facilities to international competition standards for swimming, volleyball, basketball and a variety of other indoor sports. The Complex was also designed with future use and the community in mind.

Taurama Aquatic Centre was the host venue for Swimming, Basketball (round matches), indoor Volleyball and taekwondo for the 2015 Pacific Games.

The complex is also set up to be a training and coaching centre. It has international standard competition timing and control rooms, on top of athlete and swimming coaching facilities.

Swimming Facilities

The facilities include a stainless steel Olympic standard 50m competition pool. The pool can also be shortened to 25m to accommodate international standard short course competition as well as provide flexibility for elite swimmer training and public use after the 2015 Pacific Games.

There is also a separate 25m pool for use as a warm up pool during competition. This pool has been designed to have a depth ranging from 900mm to 1400mm with a wheelchair ramp access.

The pool can also be used as a “learn to swim” pool for young children as well as a hydrotherapy pool for people with disability outside of competition time.

Both of these pools are outdoors and set into a family oriented landscape which has a splash and play area for very young children as well as shaded structures and grassed play areas for family activities.

Indoor sports facilities

Apart from its swimming capabilities, the main indoor sports hall provides 6 courts to Olympic volleyball standards that can be used for a large variety of indoor sports after the Pacific Games. There is movable seating which can set up a centre court arrangement with a seating capacity of 2000 spectators for main event games.

There are also two separate group exercise spaces, which can be used as martial arts studios, dance studios, boxing gymnasium, community activities or dedicated high performance training suites.

Other facilities

Additional facilities include a seminar lounge that can be used for hospitality events during a competition which has direct access to seating areas overlooking the competition pool and the indoor sports hall. The centre also has a public fitness centre / gym.

Links looks forward to supply the solution to make this facility as successful as it can be!
